Dear Neighbor,

Thank you for visiting my website.

I am running for City Council District D, because I want to give back to the community in a way that they helped me. As a single mother and student, my community stepped up and helped me with employment and encouraged me to stay involved with various organizations, all while I continued to pursue my academic dreams.

Because of the people who helped me, I was able to earn my PHD and now serve as a Program Manager at the Young Mothers Residential Program at Project Row Houses, the very organization that helped me when I needed help, as well as teaching at the University of Houston. In addition, Mayor Anise Parker appointed me to the Board of Commissioners for the Houston Housing Authority. My son Jamal recently graduated from high school and now serves his country in the United States Navy.

The historically and culturally rich neighborhoods on District D need our help. I grew up and now live and work in District D. I will always be available to you to listen to your needs and together we can come up with solutions to our problems.

Thank you again for stopping by and please do not hesitate to call me if you have any questions about my campaign for City Council. We are in this together and together we can better our community.
